It's Life Changing!

"We don't do allowance at this point, so we just use tracking their money. The biggest benefit our family is the kids have stoped asking me to buy them things during random shopping trips. Instead they remember how much they have and if they can afford it. It's life changing!

The kids are super pumped by this system!"

-Lauren D.

(Mom of 8 year old twins and a 15 year old)

An Allowance Chart We Can Stick To!

"The biggest benefit to our family is finally having an allowance chart that we can stick to and that the kids are excited about. The stickers are a great size and stick and restick well with great variety of options. We adapted it to fit the needs of our family by setting up a few specific chores for each kid which we wrote on the right side."

-Abby

(Mom of 5, 7 and 11 year old)

I've Learned How to Spend My Money Wisely

"Using the [Family Money Ladder] has also taught us more about money's value. We used to ask for things that were expensive without truly thinking about the cost. Now we think about how much things cost and the consequences of spending money. The money ladder has show me to compare shop instead of buying the store prices."

  • Daily reinforcement builds lasting positive financial habits

  • Easy and visual method so it's easy to do and easy to maintain

The 6 Pillars

A Complete Financial Foundation

The Money Ladder covers six essential principles of financial literacy, setting up a foundation that lasts a lifetime.

PLAN & EARN

Teach kids to set goals and understand that money comes from work and effort.

MANAGE MONEY

Kids learn to track spending vs. earning and make smart choices with their pocket money.

SAVE

Build the habit of setting money aside for bigger goals and delayed gratification.

INVEST

Introduce the concept of growing money over time through simple investment lessons.

GIVE

Teach generosity and the joy of helping others through charitable giving.

AVOID DEBT

Help kids understand borrowing and why staying out of debt builds wealth.

Simple & Effective

How It Works

Just like manners, good financial habits require daily practice. The Money Ladder makes it visual, fun, and easy.

  • Hang It Up: Mount the Money Ladder a common area where it is easily accessible to parents and child.

  • Add Allowance: Based on your family values and ages,
decide on ALLOWANCE (Example: 5 years old = $5.00 a week) or NO ALLOWANCE. (money comes from jobs and gifts)

  • Do & Learn: MOVE stickers UP when they earn and save. MOVE sticker DOWN when they spend, give and lose.

A Mom's Mission to Raise Financially Smart Kids

Hi! I'm Shannon, a mom who struggled to find a way to teach my kids about money in a world of invisible digital transactions.

I created the Family Money Ladder because I believe that just like manners, good financial habits require daily reinforcement, practice, learning from mistakes, and positive role models.

Reading a book or attending one class won't make habits stick. The Money Ladder provides that daily, visual, hands-on experience that transforms how kids think about money.

💥 Money Ladder Mission 💥

✅ Teach the value of a dollar

✅ Get kids managing their own money

✅ Get kids and parents talking about money

✅ Inspire kids to ask "How can I help?" instead of "Can I have?"

XO,

Shannon
